M.A.C Studio Fix Powder Review | Makeup Monday!

Hello everyone!

So today I am going to be talking about the M.A.C Studio Fix Powder, which I purchased a few weeks back (actually, my stepdad, Mike, purchased it for me)!

I had previously bought the mineralise skin finish powder, as at the time I had terrible acne and the last thing I wanted was a full coverage powder but actually I found that I would rather have a full coverage powder and wear less foundation/concealer/face makeup.

I have always been very attached to my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, which I wear on an everyday basis, however, when I go out somewhere special or I just want to wear more high end makeup, I LOVE full coverage makeup.

This powder is so beautiful; it does not make my skin look cakey whatsoever, in fact it fills in my pores, making them look smaller and it keeps my skin from getting as sweaty or glowy (whatever you like to say)! The powder is full coverage so you do not need to even wear foundation underneath if you're wearing concealer as it gives a nice coverage on it's own, however on a night out if you want completely flawless skin then wear a foundation too and your skin will radiate and look beautiful!

If you're interested in the powder, here is a link to try it out (it retails in the UK for £22.00).

I love you guys lots and lots and I will see you in my next one!
Xo's Emily.

Trying To Get Back Into Shape TIPS | Fitness Friday!

Hello everyone!

So I am starting a completely new series on my blog (of which posts go up every weekday with different themes each day). Every Friday I will be uploading a fitness related blog post.

So this week I thought I would talk about trying to get back into shape. I have recently been working out (I have worked out every day of summer, which went pretty well considering it's, you know, ME)! And now, into the new year I am back feeling uninspired to do anything, however I do have some tips on how to just get up off your bottom and do something!

My number one tip for getting back into shape and getting motivated to get back into exercise and working out is....CLOTHES! I purchased some funky coloured sports bras, some new workout pants and a few different workout tops and it has been the BIGGEST inspiration for me to start working out because I find I look forward to wearing the clothes.

I also got some new trainers for Christmas which I had had my eye on since definitely the summer when I started my workouts. I got the Nike Zoom trainers in black and they are specifically for doing workouts (not so much running, so I have a different older pair I use for that still). They are one of the biggest inspirations I have had to work out as I love wearing them, they are unbelievably comfortable and I feel like I can get through a workout with them. It's amazing how much a pair of new trainers can change your views on working out!!

Another tip is to replace old habits with new habits. Now, some people might disagree with me on this but I genuinely believe it's important to have habits, we as humans are creatures of habits. But, as long as those habits are good then there's no problem. My biggest habit before summer was not eating, or forgetting, to have breakfast. I now make it a habit to have a big bowl of porridge every morning which normally helps me to not snack at all in the morning (although snacking on fruit or nuts is what I do if I need to snack). I add all sorts to my porridge and this factor changes every day, however the I have made the building bricks as it's always porridge. I generally add honey for natural sweetness and I never EVER add sugar to my breakfast, it doesn't really need it when you can add natural sugars like honey and fruit. I also mix in raisins with the porridge whilst it's cooking as it gives it a lovely sweet flavour and I love raisins (they also help to keep you regular, which is an added bonus)! I top my porridge with either chopped almonds (as they give you great energy all morning), slices of banana, slices of apple, berries or I mix in seeds like sunflower seeds, poppy seeds and chia seeds (which all also give you great energy in the morning). Porridge isn't for everyone, but try it and see what you think! To make my porridge I use 1/4 cup of raw rolled oats to 3/4 cups of water. I boil it on a low heat for 15 minutes and then add what I'm going to add.

I hope this blog post was helpful and let me know in the comments how you motivate yourself to work out!

I love you guys lots and lots and I will see you in my next one!
Xo's Emily.

The Stress Of Being 'Too Young/ Too Old'

Hello everyone!

So I am going to be a little ranty today on the ever so popular topic for people my age of either being too young or too old to do certain things they want to. So that this blog post is not long and drawn out, I am just going to tell you my top thing that really "grind my gears" (Family Guy fans will get that reference!!) but if you'd like to hear more on this topic then I can do a Stress Of Being Young Part 2 if you'd like - let me know in the comments.

What "grinds my gears?" I cannot drive. Granted, the legal age for driving is obviously there for a reason and for the majority of people that's a very good thing because otherwise everywhere would be chaos but it annoys me that I have to use either public transport or (much more likely) get a lift with older friends or parents to see my friends, go to town or go and see my boyfriend. Sometimes I bike to my boyfriend's house but I'm not always in the mood to cycle that far!! It annoys me because I am very mature and it also confuses me because I am old enough to babysit a very demanding little baby (of 10 months) and I am old enough to have 4 independent jobs that I fought for myself. I just want more independence.

Being 16 - there's constant confusion as to whether you're adult enough or not. Sometimes my Mum says to me "Emily, you're only a child!" or "Emily, you're too young, you're not mature enough!" but then sometimes she says "Emily, you're so grown up!" or "Emily, you're 16, you're an adult!". Granted, my Mum uses these against me, for instance if I don't have time to clean the kitchen or take the bins out I am "too young and immature" but if I make tea, clear it all away and sterilise all the baby bottles for her I am saint of the house and "very mature".

If you are my age, does this confuse you too? Because, it really frustrates me a lot!!

Thankyou all for listening to my little rant, I love you all lots and please let me know your thoughts and feelings on this subject! I will see you in my next one!
Xo's Emily.

Throwback Thursday! (On a Sunday)

Hello everyone!

So I am starting a completely new series on my blog (of which posts go up every weekday with different themes each day). Throwback Thursdays are something I have done on my blog before so those of you that are familiar with my blog will know what they are, but for those of you who aren't familiar with my blog, every Thursday I will be posting an old picture of me for you to have a laugh at and see a little more into my life!

This picture is from Halloween about 4-5 years ago. I dressed in (only, nothing else) one of Dad's white shirts, covered it in fake blood and made my face look scary - along with back-combed hair!! My brother was a vampire (of which I did his makeup) and we went round our village in our big group of friends looking like total idiots but we had the best time ever and it's one of my favourite memories!

I love you guys lots and I will see you in my next one!

Current Skincare Favourites and Tips!

Hello everyone!

So I have recently been using new products and venturing out a little more compared to my usual skincare routine so I thought I would show you the new discoveries I have been loving, and the old favourites I have gone back to.

I hope you guys enjoy this post and make sure to let me know what you thought of it in the comments - and let me know YOUR favourite skincare products, I'd love to try them out!

I love you all lots and I will speak to you in my next one,
Xo's Emily.

So my first new discovery is the CLINIQUE take the day off cleansing balm; some of you may know, if you have watched my channel for a while, that I loved the take the day off cleansing milk from CLINIQUE, but I still had fairly dry skin so I decided to get the balm which is more of an oil based product. Oil - based products can be great for dry skin, but don't be put off either if you have oily skin because they work just as well!! This product, as you will see in the second picture down, is a hard oil and you massage it onto your dry face and it takes off literally ALL traces of makeup, it's amazing! I then use it again to properly cleanse once my makeup is removed.

I have also been getting really into face masks lately, as I have had more problem skin. I have been loving this GARNIER Pure Active wash scrub and mask in one! This means if I just need a scrub or harsher wash I can use this but I can also leave it as a mask if I need it to get deeper into my skin. I highly recommend a product like this to everyone, as it does not cost much and it is a great multi-purpose product... there are some great versions of this on the market at the moment too, all for under the £10 mark.

Lots of you may know I love eye creams - lots of people my age (15) do not bother with eye products but it is a must for me. This simple eye gel is nice and light for the day and I use a richer product at night.

I actually got this toner from my grandma as she did not want it after using it once! I love it though. It is only a small sample one but it makes you feel so fresh in the morning after cleansing. I like to use this before I do my serum and moisturiser in the morning because it makes my face feel fresh and ready for the day.

This is my trusty Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream; there's not much to say about this apart from you need to purchase this if you have problem lips! I always suffered from severely dry lips and since using this I have never experienced chapped lips again. I use this all day, I take it to school, I use it before bed and I take it everywhere! The smell isn't amazing but the benefits for your lips are endless. This is also a multi-purpose product so you can use this to keep your eyebrows in place and you can use it on burns etc. It is £15.00, but for a HUGE size lip balm (as you can see in my hand on the pic).

Recently, due to being naughty and biting my nails and the surrounding skin, I have really really needed a good hand cream. I decided to try the fearne one out which smells amazing! It's nice and light for daily use, and if I need something a little thicker I will smother my hands in some E45 or something similar before going to sleep.

I decided it was time to actually buy a night cream - as I had just been using the same moisturiser for day and night time, which wasn't working for me as my skin seems to crave richer products at night time, this NIVEA one is amazing! I got the BB cream to go with it too and I like that too, for light day wear.

This is an old favourite. I was using a proper cleanser every morning and it was taking more moisture out of my skin so I swapped to something lightweight in the morning, which is this Soap & Glory for daily youth face wash: it smells amazing and it does the job of making my face feel squeaky clean in the morning but not depriving me of the moisture I need.

As I said earlier, I have been using scrubs and masks more and this is my FAVOURITE scrub at the moment - this makes my face so smooth and it really gets deep into pores and spots, even before they appear!

My Weekend Away To Keswick!

Hello everyone!

So recently me, Cole and my family went away to the Lake District for the weekend and instead of vlogging, which I do usually do when I go away (as I think it's nice to have my favourite memories on YouTube, to easily access). However, this time I did not vlog - I blogged and took some great pictures instead! I know not all these pictures look amazing but the weather was not too forgiving for us all!! Nevertheless, we had a fantastic weekend and here are a few pictures to show you what we got up to!

I love you all lots, I hope you enjoyed this post and I will speak to you all in my next one!

Xo's Emily.

We spent a lot of time in Keswick, which was where we were staying (about a mile or so out of the centre), and one place we went to was Fitz Park in the centre of the town - it wasn't an amazing day but we had a great time messing around in the park ... and Lucy loved her first proper park experience!! (My baby sister for those of you who were wondering)

In the park, me and Cole could not resist being big children so we tried out this monkey bar kind of thing. You both grabbed on either side to a monkey bar type handle and then as you walked around it, you got higher and higher and the other person got lower - if that makes sense. I just ended up crashing into Cole, he was actually quite good but in this one he fell over, ha ha!

This was the rest of Fitz Park which was lovely, we got ice creams and walked around the bowls green and the tennis courts!

We also had a walk into town and when I saw this HUGE giraffe I had to take a picture and send it to my Mum as baby Lucy is obsessed with her toy giraffe, Colin!!

On our way back home we saw these two statue animals, which I thought were quite unusual so naturally I had to photograph them!!

Late Holiday Pictures!

Hello everyone!

So I know that the previous half term we had in the UK was, like, AGES ago now but when I was clearing out my phone pictures the other day I remembered I never got round to actually doing a full blog post of my holiday with Cole and his family to Scotland. They have a caravan in Stranraer and I took some fab pics when we were away so these are some of the pictures!!

P.S. For some of you who sometimes mention this from my vlogs and things, when I vlog with Cole on holidays and things we NEVER share a bed, or go on holiday on our own, his family just prefer not to be filmed!

I hope you enjoy this blog post of pictures and let me know in the comments what you thought about my holiday pictures!!
