Taking Down The Christmas Decorations!

Hello Everyone!

So welcome to blog post number 2; I decided that even though I knew my new blog was launching in January that I still had to do some sort of Christmas blog post! I actually took these pictures when we put UP our decorations but I figured I could show you in detail our decorations before we take them DOWN this year.

I took part in vlogmas this year and absolutely loved it. It was incredibly tiring and stressful with so much editing and uploading in December but totally worth it! So I took these photos during vlogmas and if you want to see me and Cole (My Boyfriend for those of you who don't know!) putting the decorations on the tree then go over to my channel and watch my vlogmas video of it! I will put the link down below at the end of the post.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year and got to share it with the people you loved!

Xo's Emily.

So this was the finished tree, I think me and Cole did a beautiful job!

This was the top half of the tree (With a cheeky 'Throwback Thursday' picture in the cabinet behind there!!)

 This was our angel.

These were all our 'one-of-a-kind' decorations on the tree. On the top left was a random glass bauble that we have had in our family for a long time. Top middle was a fabric checkered love heart that my Mum has from her own stock (she sells dainty things like this!). Top right was part of a set with bottom middle and they are both little boy and girl Christmas elves and are so very cute! Bottom left we have had for a while also and, even though it doesn't come up on camera as well, is very sparkly and a beautiful rabbit. Finally, bottom right is another angel, but wooden, and very plain and simple- but beautiful.

The rest of the tree, after the more 'statement baubles' I think you would call them, was covered in these baubles. Top left was plain gold, whereas bottom right was sparkly gold; Top right was shiny red wheres bottom left was matte red. We went for a red and gold look on our tree and it looked beautiful!

These were our lights. They were just simple white lights.

Me and my brother, Joseph, both had advent calenders. We did have the usual ones from the supermarket that everyone gets but we also had these, and have done ever since we were little. On the left hand side, Joseph had a Santa Claus calender and on the right I had a girl elf?! (I'm completely guessing with elf, it's a girl anyway!) We both filled the pockets of the calenders with our favourite sweets which I thought was such a cute idea.

Now, in our house, we like to go all out at Christmas so Mum put up these gorgeous door handle decorations. On the left we had a slightly-mauled-by-cats Santa Clause, in the middle a Snowman and on the right another slightly-different Snowman.

We also has this random, but beautiful, wicker heart decoration hanging from our mirror in our living room with little berries (obviously fake) around it.

Obviously we had to get my baby sister Lucy some decorations on her favourite toy in the world! This is her play mat and she loves it as the flower that hangs above her makes noises and plays songs so we thought we would add some lights which she loves to look at and these, I can safely say, are the only decorations that will be staying up through the coarse of the year... or at least until she gets bored! Ha ha!

We also had a mini tree on our windowsill in the lounge, or living room if you like. Mum decorated this with lights and statement decorations. (Sorry for the bad quality picture, forgot to take my flash off!)

These were all the decorations we had on our mini tree and it was held in a little pot covered in pretty Christmas paper and ribbon (bottom left).

We had our fireplace nice and decorated too, which really pulled the living room together and made it all 'Christmassy' and festive.

Around our fireplace we had mine and my brother's stockings, marked E and J. (Top left and bottom right) We also had some holly on top of the fireplace covered with baubles, lights and plastic berries.

We also had a variety of candles around the house, some of which are these. As it was Christmas, we stuck to the usual red theme of candles. We had a Yankee Candle, which smelled AMAZING! If I had to describe the smell I would literally say 'Christmas In A Jar' (Top Left). We also had a big, three wick, candle which we had in the centre of our table for Chritmas dinner (Top right, bottom left). And finally, we had a small red candle, which was strawberry scented, covered around the edge with berries. These candles really made the house festive and smell amazing.

And that was all the decorations we had this Christmas. I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas!
